Dr. Jim Barry has served as Associate Professor of Marketing at Nova Southeastern University since August, 2003 where he has spearheaded development of course-ware and instructed MBA classes on social media marketing. In addition, he offers workshops in social media and digital marketing strategies for clients throughout South Florida.

As a marketing practitioner, Barry has applied his executive marketing background to concepts taught at the undergraduate through doctoral level. Specializing in content marketing and social business development, Barry maintains currency in the field by creating state-of-the-art website concepts, edu-tainment and social media campaigns.

Barry joined NSU after a 25 year career in executive marketing positions with AT&T, BFGoodrich Aerospace, GE Aerospace, Rockwell Collins and two start-up firms. His primary responsibilities included strategic planning and business development for high tech electronics.

Barry earned his MBA from DePaul University and his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. After obtaining his Doctorate in Business Administration from NSU, he has since published several journal articles for the European Journal of Marketing, The Journal of Marketing Management, The Journal of Services Marketing, The Journal of Global Marketing and The Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing.
